Of Politics and Being Sick

I am now strongly convinced that politics and heart problems go hand in hand. That's what happens when a public official is being summoned in an inquiry. First there was the case of Mr Chairman and here comes the NSA. Their common denominator? Heart problem. Oh boy, politics really took its toll on their frail bodies... (I say that line with very dark sarcasm.)

I don't care whether he is sick or scheduled for an operation he must answer whatever inquiries there are. If his doctors say that he must not be subjected to stress then why did he accept the post in the first place? I think the NSA's job is a stressful one. Furthermore, I don't think that he got sick just now. I don't think any person will suddenly fall ill. Getting where he's at takes time, it's a constant build up of a combination of factors called lifestyle.

One unforgettable college professor used to tell us that "we are going to the dogs". Back then I was full of hope but now I feel like singing "Do you know where were going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know?"
