Reconnecting

To reconnect with old buddies you haven't seen in a longish time is a wonderful experience. You get to notice how they've grown - horizontally or vertically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially.
I had a grand time last night with a good Hafling buddy, JPK. Hafling, since he's half German. He was the one who introduced moi to the wonders of coffee shops.

Whoever conceptualized that coffee commercial's tagline "Let's sit and talk awhile" must have been a genius. Since knowing him, coffee and wonderful conversations go hand in hand. Nope it isn't the coffee really but the company. We like each other's company because we are interested in a lot of things. For one, we both
love reading and talking about what we've read. Last night's topics were Leonardo's Last Supper, the Da Vinci code and his love and life and my life and lack thereof of love **hah! sentiments sentiments** We arrived at the coffee shop around 7 PM and we left when the waiter hanged the "Sorry we're Closed" sign around 11.30 PM. If I'm correct, the last time we had such a long talk was before he graduated from college two years ago. That we could still carry a long conversation and not be bored with each other could only mean that he is a true friend and a good listener. Which reminds me of a line, "Time and distance are of no importance between friends." The experience was like picking up where you left off. Hmmm, I think I really have to start seeing old buddies again...
