Today is the first day of classes for me... Oh you know the usual horror stories, like telling the other students how ehem "challenging" a particular professor is, how their project/s can make it seem like an ehem "hell semester" for you and how you're going to loose a lot of sleep over it because the deadliest line upon you, blah, blah blah... The usual stuff right?
Grrr due to still unresolved problems at work, I coudn't make it to the first period this morning. Which is not good because the professor already tackled Chapter 1 and assigned the topics for the presentation to my classmates. I think my punishment for not being there would be getting a not so nice topic to present.
Another rant in order is the fact that my instructor in the next period wasn't there and I am supposed to be under his advisory for two subjects. The other one being an early in the evening class I waited for him, since I was told he was gonna come in later. True enough he was there to tell us that the other subject was really supposed to be scheduled on Sundays. What? Another semester of Sunday classes? Well, I guess I just have to live with it. Anyway it's just 8 meetings.
One subject stands out among the rest today. Well, since it's the only subject where I got to sit down and listen to the professor. I learned something new today.
"You don't manage people, you lead. Peopleware is hard to manage because emotions are involved.
Anyone has the potential to become a leader but not every one can become managers.
The mere fact that you can influence people to do something (bad or good) shows that you are a leader."
I think it's going to be an interesting semester... Like what Sir John would use to say, "Keep it coming Sir."
