George RR Martin is the author of a series of books titled A Song of Ice and Fire where the series A Game of Thrones is based from. I am still reading the first book and I can tell you he is writer extraordinaire. Touted as the modern Tolkien who is of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fame, his characterization and story arcs really sparked my imagination. Genius.
Now I can't say whether the series is faithful to the book but let's be realistic about it. There will always be deviations in the story from paper to fit into the real world and we can only hope that those deviations are not that significant to make the movie or series version distinct from the original. Then again, I don't really care much for that as long as the book sparks my imagination and/or the movie or series entertains me.
Oh boy and you thought I will write something about love did you? :/sarcasm
