Buhangin

I rarely watch Maalaala Mo Kaya. My usual line would be "Sa dami ng kadramahan sa buhay ko, bakit pa ako manonood nyan?" Seriously though, I feel that there's too much melodrama on tv these days its making me sick. Last night was different. I felt bored and wasn't sleepy yet so I did some channel surfing. The show had just started and curiosity got me to listen to the first few lines. Then I found myself going through the whole episode.

It was a story of a husband who thought that making his wife the center of his world is what she needs. That doing everything for her made her happy. Well, maybe she was happy in the early years. Every morning, before work breakfast was already prepared, when she came home after work, he would give her a massage, he would set the alarm so he would wake up in the middle of the night to greet her a happy anniversary. He was all over her for as long as she can remember that she felt there was something missing and she realized it was her identity that she had lost. In the end she had the guts to ask for her freedom. He finally gave in to her wishes seeing that she was happy where she wanted to be.

Superb performances by Michael de Mesa who was able to show a lot of conflicting emotion and Rosanna Roces who surprised me with her acting. =)

Buhangin was an apt title, when you hold on too much to it some would fall off. The same thing happens if you hold on too loosely. How do we hold on to love just right? I don't know. All I know is that a person must grow and so does a relationship. That any relationship needs to be worked on by both sides. That openness, trust, and commitment accompany love. Trust is also openning yourself, your innermost thoughts and feelings to your partner to let them love you for the beautiful person you really are.

Hmmm spoken from experience? Part brave, part runner. Yap that's me.

  2. I think that was the episode where they had the lead acotr bald? I was going to the kitchen for water when I saw our housekeepers watching that on cable tv. I couldn't catch up with the conversation but I think the bald guy was sterile?
