Traditions

Sometime ago, when I attented the funeral of Dondon, it was quite an experience at stepping over incense so that the spirits at the cemetery would not follow you home.

Some of us are so fond of "bring house" when we go to parties but after the funeral you are to finish off your food and not bring anything with you. Why? I don't know. No one that I have asked has been able to give me an explanation. Err, it's not a party ayt?!?

I had decided to have a requiem but I was told that it must not take place until after the 9th night after the person had died. When I asked the person who told me why so, he wasn't sure why but that it's tradition. Okay...

I received flowers for my dad from Pia, my friend living in Cali. Since the house is practically empty most of the time the past days, I brought the flowers to the office. Better there than at the house where no can admire their beauty. Oh boy, was I right. My officemates thought the flowers came from some (how I wish!) admirer. They never suspected because I kinda removed the red ribbon uually found on funeral flowers. Unfortunately, her flowers never made it to my dad's wake and funeral. So did I. I'm trying to arrange my schedule though so I and my 3rd brother can travel in time for the traditional 40 days.

Last night my brother told me they would be bringing with him a few of my late father's belongings as a token. This afternoon he told me that the elders told them that they can only bring the belongings after the 40 days.

So here I am, with my flowers on a pot of course and positioned on top of my desk. Where else? The constant staring at them inspired me to change my layie. When I found this layie from Free Blogger Skins, I told myself, "Perfect!" I guess you could say this new look is inspired by my dad. You would notice that the chatter box is gone. Well I'm having a hard time recovering it because I forgot my login name at Flooble. So until I'll be able to find a way to recover good ol chattie then no more chatter box for me. I wouldn't wish for a new one because that would mean that I'd be starting from scratch besides the Flooble's is really really nice. The astig headshot that is not there will come back soon in another form. I might place the new picture on that bunch of flowers inside the circle found the top of the sidebar or if that proves to be a complicated thing to do, then I'll just add another sidebar element. So that's it for today.
