Reminiscing Lake Venado

This is one of my favorite places in the entire mountain experience. I forgot just how big the entire crater is but had it rained weeks before, that brownish soil near the lake would be green due to moss. What excit
es me every time is the mist that rise from the water during the early morning hours. The last time I was there, it had rained and the next day I was in awe of the mists from the surrounding forest. It was so magical it made me think of dragons, fairies, elves, gnomes and of course I am their Faery Queen.

Ah that water, don't be fooled. It is deep, very cold, and murky. The first time I was there a guy drowned. His body never surfaced so frogmen were brought up via whirlybirds. Took them hours to find his body trapped among roots underwater.
